Vance Sikov voted as the best player on Volyn

Vance Sikov; photo: sport.uaVance Sikov was able to hold on to his lead and was named the best player for Volyn during the first half of the season in Ukraine.

The voting concluded on Volyn’s official website and Sikov was able to hold off Brazilian striker Maicon Oliveira who finished in second place.  This was the tenth consecutive year in which Volyn’s website held a poll of the best player on the team.  After about two weeks of voting and a total of 6,878 votes, Vance received the most support with 2,323 votes or 33.8% of the vote.  Sikov joined Volyn earlier in the summer as a free agent after his contract expired with Cypriot club Ethnikos Achnas.  He featured in 18 of the maximum 20 league games during the first half of the season and scored two goals.  Vance only missed the two games because of a yellow and red card suspensions.  Volyn is currently in 12th place of the Ukrainian top division but the club has advanced to the quarter-finals of the domestic cup.
