Besides the senior national team, the U21 manager Boban Babunski also announced his squad for the qualifier against Portugal.
The U21 qualifier against Portugal also takes place on 5 March, and it was decided that the likes of Aleksandar Trajkovski, Stefan Ristovski, David Babunski and Ezgjan Alioski would play for U21 instead of the senior national team. Boshko Gjurovski felt the U21 qualifier against Portugal was more important than the friendly against Latvia, so he allowed those aforementioned players to suit up for the U21 team.
