Ilievski already had a friendly debut in late May against Azerbaijan but that was with a list of summoned players by former coach Blagoja Milevski. Also, on those two matches he acted as caretaker together with Zvonko Zlatanovski. Now this is his first official squad list since he has taken over the job. These matches will serve him more as preparations for the next qualifiers as Macedonia has already lost its chance for the top as it is bottom-placed with only a win in 6 matches.
For that occasion Ilievski called up the following 22 players of which 16 are also eligible to play in the next generation of qualifiers for the 2021 EURO.
