Our U19 national team will enter the qualifying tournament next week in Czechia and for that occasion head coach Goran Stankovski announced the list of summoned players.

Macedonia in in the Group 3 with Croatia, Luxembourg and hosts Czechia. The tournament will be played in the towns of Zlín and Kroměříž but all three of our matches have been scheduled in the later town. Stankovski decided to summon 20 players,. most of which were part of the friendlies last month with couple of surprises on the list.

All matches will be played at the Hanácká Slavia stadium in Kroměříž.
Wednesday, 14th November at 14.00 CET
Macedonia vs. Croatia
Saturday, 17th November at 17.00 CET
Czechia vs. Macedonia
Tuesday, 20th November at 17.00 CET
Luxembourg vs. Macedonia
The top teams of the group will proceed into the Elite round of qualifiers which will be played in the spring of 2019.
(Keep in mind that in May 2016 the United Nations adopted the short name Czechia for the Czech Republic. FIFA and UEFA still use the longer name, but we opted to go with the short version on our web site.)

Czechia just sounds wrong. It is shorter, but to me it sounds like an American style rebranding of a professional sports team.
I live in the Czech Republic and I will be attending the match on the 17th 😉
Despite what the UN says, I will never say Czechia. 🙂
