Macedonia defeated Albania and will face Bosnia-Herzegovina in the final of the play-offs for the 5th place at the XVII Mediterranean Games.
First win for the U19 national team at the Mediterranean Games in Turkey. The boys needed an extra time to beat Albania and win a chance to battle for the 5th place.
After Macedonia got eliminated in the group stage, they were left to fight for better position in the final standings. They faced Albania who finished 3rd in Group A and after 90 minutes the game was levelled, one each. The game winner was scored by Demir Imeri in the 96th minute.
Now in the battle for the 5th position Macedonia will face Bosnia-Herzegovina who beat Italy 3:0 earlier. The game will be played today at 20.00 CET. It is interesting that Macedonia will finish before Italy in the standings although Italy beat them 5:1.
