The Macedonian U16 national team picked up a narrow win over Italy U16 in a friendly today.
The Macedonian U16 national team was able to celebrate a 1:2 road victory over Italy U16 in a friendly match played today in San Giuliano Terme.
Italy U16 first took the lead through Matarese, and also before that goal Italy missed a penalty as well (Cutrone’s shot went wide). However, Macedonia showed resilience and turned the game around with goals by Darko Dodev and Belmin Chulevikj in the second half.
According to the website of the Football Federation of Macedonia, Emil Abaz of Anderlecht left a very good impression.
‘Every win is important and everyone in the squad gave their maximum effort for this great result which is a real morale booster because it comes against such a quality opponent’ noted U17 manager Bobi Stojkovski.
Macedonia started the match with the following line-up: Trajchevski; K. Ristovski, Gichevski, Hani, Terziev, Mitrev, Dodev, Sulejmani, M. Ristovski, Zdravkovski, Abaz.
Additionally, Dimkov, Manevski, Chulevikj, Chukaleski and Dodevski also featured in the match.
Both of these youth national teams will play another friendly tomorrow in Coverciano, the technical headquarters of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), at 15.00 CET.
