U17: Finland – Macedonia 3:1

Finland is the winner of the friendly tournament in Latvia after they cemented the table top with a win over Macedonia in the final round.

The young Lynx had to celebrate a win in order to take over the top from their Finish counterparts, but Fиnland proved to be a much better team.

Finland scored two goals in the first half and right after the break added a third after which it was obvious the match outcome. Macedonia only managed to score a consolation goal halfway through the second half. It was a goal by Besfort Arifi after an assist by Metodi Maksimov.

In the other game hosts Latvia won their first point by playing a 2:2 draw against Russia. That was enough for Russia to end as runners-up, pushing Mario Vujovikj’s boys to the third position in the final standings.
