U16: Macedonia – Cyprus 0:1

The youngest Macedonians lost to Cyprus by a single goal in the UEFA U16 development tournament in Skopje.

The game winner for the visitors was scored by Michalis Papakonstantinou in 20th minute. The Macedonian coach Bobi Stojkovski was furious after the game, stating that the players deserved the defeat as they went into the game underestimating the opponent: “We played a disastrous first half. We went into the game underestimating the opponent, thinking that we have already won. I’m not satisfied with that attitude. In the second half we created few chances, but we failed to score. Most of the players must change their attitude”.
