Stefan Ristovski experienced sharp pain in the right thigh during Tuesday’s training for Latina.  The MRI showed that Stefan is suffering from a condition called femoral nerve lesion which can bring sharp pain to the thigh, as was experienced by Ristovski in the original diagnosis.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Ristovski who has been in good form, helping Latina to achieve a run of positive results.  Latina recently went 13 games in league play without a defeat before finally losing their last game 1:0 against Ternana last Saturday.

The Latina medical staff will evaluate Ristovski closely to see if the pain to his right thigh subsides over the next couple of days.  He was out of training on Wednesday.  A femoral nerve lesion is a tricky injury that varies for different players.  Recovery time ranges from a couple of days to several weeks.  Ristovski and Latina will obviously be hoping for the former.

Ristovski used to play for Crotone earlier in his career (he was on loan there from Parma for parts of the 2011-12 season), but he received little playing time before quickly ending his journey there.  Therefore, he would have extra motivation in such a game to prove Crotone wrong, but Stefan is in doubt to partake in the match with his thigh injury.

So far in this current campaign, Ristovski has accumulated 13 caps for Latina in Serie B action.  Stefan has primarily played either in right midfield or central midfield in Latina’s preferred 3-4-1-2 formation.
