Spain announces squad for WC qualifier against Macedonia

Spain before the Liechtenstein qualifier; photo: spanishfootballsportsSpanish national team coach Julen Lopetegui summoned 25 players for the upcoming World Cup qualifying game against Macedonia.

Spain will host Macedonia on November 12 in Granada and for that occasion Julen Lopetegui revealed the Spanish squad. Two debutantes in Sergio Escudero and Ander Herrera are on the list and will hope to make their first appearance against Macedonia.

Several players were not available to the Spanish coach because of an injury. Those are Sergio Ramos, Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba, Javi Martínez and Andrés Iniesta who were part of the previous squad in this qualifiers. Still, Spain even without them is a huge favorite against Macedonia.

The Spanish squad is compiled of players who play only in the best 4 leagues in the world: Primera División (13), Premier League (8), Serie A (2) and die Bundesliga (2).

After the qualifier against Macedonia, Spain will play a friendly match against England on the 15th away in London. Macedonia still hasn’t arranged a friendly.
