Shkendija immediately appointed a caretaker manager for at least the next 3 games in Albanian coach Shpëtim Duro.
After sacking Gjore Jovanovski on Sunday morning, Shkendija needed only around 15 hours to find a temporary replacement in 53-year-old Albanian coach Shpëtim Duro. He will lead the Tetovo based club in the remaining 3 games before the long winter break in Macedonia. Then, depending on his work and the atmosphere within the team, the club’s board will decide whether to make his hire permanent.
In recent years, Duro has worked only with Albanian clubs such as Partizani, Vllaznia, Skënderbeu and Besa. Before that, he was an assistant coach to the Croat Otto Barić when he was the national team coach of Albania. His first opponent as Shkendija manager will be this upcoming Wednesday against Napredok on the road.
