Shkendija targeting Armend Alimi

Shkendija is showing heavy interest in former Macedonian international Armend Alimi who is currently a free agent.

The 24-year-old Armend Alimi is a free agent after he recently terminated his contract with Croatian club Istra 1961.  Shkendija has shown heavy interest in signing the player and newspaper TeLajmi reports that the Tetovo based club has already made an offer to Alimi.  Armend is thought to be preferring a move abroad but if he is unable to find the right club, then he is expected to join Shkendija.  The club views Alimi as a solid replacement for Izair Emini who is expected to transfer to South Korean side Incheon United.

Alimi plays in attacking midfield and has made nine caps for the Macedonian national team.  However, his last appearance came in December of 2010 during a friendly against China as Alimi has not been called up since John Toshack became manager of the national team.
