With two goals by Mensur Kurtisi, Shkendija defeated Renova 2:0 in the Tetovo derby during the 5th round in the First League.
The 1st half did not feature many chances so it was no surprise that it was 0:0 going into halftime. However, in the 51st minute, new signing Mensur Kurtisi scored a wonderful goal from a free kick to give Shkendija the lead. Later, in the 78th minute, Kurtisi doubled the Shkendija lead, bringing three valuable points to the defending champions. The Macedonian national team manager John Toshack was in attendance and Kurtisi made a good impression. Kurtisi has already make two appearances for Macedonia during friendlies in the summer of 2010 but he could get another opportunity under Toshack, especially if he maintains his good form.
Starting Lineups:
Renova: Elezi, Simovski, Ristov, Stepanovski, Gashi, Bajrami, Emini, Nuhiu, Siljanovski, Gafuri, Jancevski.

With the win, Shkendija moves to 3rd place with 9 points, while Renova is 8th with only 5 points. The remaining two games from this round will be played on Tuesday when 11 Oktomvri faces Teteks while Rabotnicki hosts Horizont Turnovo.
