Serbian national team manager Siniša Mihajlović announced the squad for their upcoming qualifier against Macedonia.
Mihajlović summoned 24 players, among them including retired veteran Dejan Stanković and three debutants (Andrija Živković, Miloš Jojić and Stefan Šćepović). Stanković is in the squad as he is expected to have his farewell match since he retired from playing football. He won’t feature in the game against Macedonia, but only in the friendly against Japan four days earlier in Novi Sad.
Serbia will be missing seven regulars as Matija Nastasić, Filip Đuričić, Lazar Marković and Aleksandar Mitrović will instead play for the U21 national team, since they have more important matches, then Milan Biševac and Ljubomir Fejsa are out with injuries, while Neven Subotić asked not to be called up in order to rest from the busy schedule with Borussia Dortmund.
