Roy Ferenčina, a U.S. born Croatian coach, has been named the new manager of Shkendija.
The 44-year-old Roy Ferenčina has exclusively managed in Croatia, so this will be his first abroad club that he will manage. Roy Ferenčina is most known for his time leading Slaven Belupo from 2011-13, which included a Europa League appearance during the 2012-13 season. Slaven Belupo reached the third qualifying round back then before losing to Spain’s Athletic Bilbao 3:4 on aggregate.
Shkendija will participate in the Europa League qualifications this upcoming summer, so they were looking for a coach that had experience in that competition. They get that in Ferenčina who was actually born in the U.S.
Ferenčina replaces Shpëtim Duro who departed club to take charge of Partizani in Albania.
