Vardar won against Pelister in the derby of Macedonia and got back to first place on the table.
Vardar and Pelister completed the 8th round of the First League with their match tonight on the National Arena Philip II of Macedon. Vardar held the favorites role before the match and managed to win the 3 points although the match was not easy for them. They broke Pelister’s well organized defense in 44th minute when Filip Petrov opened the scoreline. However, 5 minutes into the second half Blagojche Glavevski equalized the score and Pelister had 1:1 until the dying minutes of the match, but defender Zlatko Tanevski gave Vardar a lead in 87th minute when he scored a goal from a position the away team protested for being offside, but the referee allowed the goal to stand. Jovan Kostovski confirmed the win with a goal in the last minute of the match and brought his team three points and a return to the first place on the table.
