Stevica Ristić won a penalty for Suwon to help his side secure a place in the AFC Champions League semi-finals.
Suwon recorded a dramatic victory to get past Iranian side Zob Ahan. The game was tied at 1:1 after 90 minutes so the match went into extra time since the first leg of this matchup also ended 1:1. During extra time, in the 99th minute, Ristić won a penalty for Suwon when he was fouled inside the area. It seemed to be a soft penalty but the referee pointed to the spot and one of Stevica’s teammates converted the penalty to give Suwon the 2:1 lead. They managed to hold on to the slim lead and advanced to the semi-final of the AFC Champions League. Suwon will face Al-Sadd from Qatar in the semi-final. Stevica Ristić ended up playing all 120 minutes during today’s game.
