Rabotnicki saves Macedonian pride

Rabotnicki Kometal, the only Macedonian club left in the European competitions, saved the Macedonian pride with qualifying for the third round of the UEFA Cup by winning 1:2 away to the Bosnian club Zrinjski in Mostar.

After the disappointing 0:0 on the first match in Skopje, it was clear that Rabotnicki had to score on the re-match in Mostar. And all went according to the plans of coach Bekvalac when in the 33rd minute Milisavljevic scored for Rabotnicki. The hosts quickly returned the precarious match situation when in the 37th minute Ivankovic equalized the score.
But all hopes for the hosts were lost when at the end of the first half and again in the second half they had players sent off because of red cards and with nine men on the pitch they were not able to score another goal. The actual score was fine for Rabotnicki but with the slight eminence on the pitch Stanisic in the last moments of the match sealed the win and Rabotnicki's qualification for the 3rd round of the UEFA Cup.
