Preview: Round 9

alt After a short break, Macedonian football league is back on schedule with the 9th round and couple of very interesting matches ahead.

The most interesting match should be played in Skopje where city rivals Vardar and Rabotnicki will meet for the 52nd time. 19 wins for each team and 13 draws is the score so far. Rabotnicki are favorites for this match but Vardar’s youngsters will surely be motivated. Rabotnicki are currently on the top of the table while Vardar are on 8th place. Last season the matches between these two were extremely interesting. They turned out to be a turning point for both teams during the season and it should be interesting to see how will tomorrow’s match end up. For those who cannot go on stadium, A1 will have live coverage of the match.

In another part of Skopje one more good match should be seen. Champions Makedonija will host Pelister. Makedonija are excellent at home, but Pelister might be motivated enough to make a surprise after recent rumors that Slovenian company will financially help the club. Last season they managed to steal a point in Gjorche Petrov after a scoreless draw. Makedonija holds the favorites role but Pelister once managed to win in Skopje this season – against Metalurg earlier.

One more match in Skopje between two teams from Skopje. Sloga Jugomagnat will be facing Metalurg. Only one point splits these two teams and this can turn out to be a great match. Metalurg has only one victory in the championship so far and needs to start winning if they are to reach expectations by many considering their big budget. Sloga’s players know that home games are extremely important for them and will try to note another success in Cair.

In Tetovo, wounded Teteks will host in-form Turnovo. Turnovo have climbed up to the third place on the table and are looking much compact. Teteks have fallen on the 9th place with recent bad results and will be looking to turn things in their favor. Turnovo are not playing their best football away from home and with hosts’ advantage Teteks might be able to capitalize and jump couple of places on the table.

Second-placed Renova is having a difficult trip to Kratovo against fifth-placed Sileks . Exciting match ahead especially if we take in mind that Sileks is playing probably the best football in recent years and are deservedly in the upper part of the table. Renova knows how to take points away from home but Sileks does not prefer giving points away.

In Prilep, Pobeda will be hosting Milano. The team from Prilep does not underestimate Milano and have trained hard for this match. The victory should not be put into question – only thing is how many goals will Pobeda score.
