Preview: Round 7

title Round 7 is next in line with Makedonija Gjorche hosting Milano on Saturday and five other games scheduled for Sunday.

Makedonija Gjorche Petrov will probably have an easy job against Milano, or what is left of them. Makedonija have been all too effective at home scoring 9 on 2 games, but at the same time their away performances are rather poor and that contributes to their fifth place at the moment. Milano are doomed being last on the table with no point gathered after 6 matches played, 18 goals conceded and only 2 scored. Last season this match would have been a derby between two sides fighting for the title, but this season it looks like Makedonija will have an easier training instead of a competitive match.

In the South of Macedonia interesting top-of-the-table match will occur when Turnovo Horizont takes on Renova. Turnovo’s stadium Kukus was finally conquered the last time Turnovo played at home when Rabotnicki managed to win all three points. However, Turnovo quickly managed to recover and won three points in Bitola against Pelister. These teams are table neighbours with Renova being upper for two points which means with a win Turnovo can take the second place. The matches with these two have never ended with more then two goals and at the same time Turnovo never managed to win against Renova. In Turnovo it always has been sharing of the points.

Sileks has a good chance to stay undefeated for sever rounds when they take on wounded Pelister. Pelister started good despite their financial problems but lost at home in the last round and now have a score of two wins, two draws and two defeats which is enough for middle of the table. Sileks have an excellent start so far and are on the fourth place with 10 points and not a single defeat yet. They have managed to steal a point against Rabotnicki in the last round away from home drawing 1-1. Sileks had a rather tough midweek cup match against Makedonija at home and they pulled out a 1-1 draw while Pelister won against second-league side Ohrid. After Pelister left without their coach Mackov, his replacement Cvetanovski also left the team and apparently the keeper Pavlovic is also not amongst the team anymore. Interestingly, in the last 18 matches between these two teams the game never ended in a draw. There are 10 wins for Sileks and 8 for Pelister. Mostly the hosting side was the winning but Pelister managed to win twice in Kratovo and twice with a result of 2-3.

Teteks will be hosting Rabotnicki in Tetovo in another what should be exciting game. The team from Tetovo managed to link two wins in a row and team atmosphere should be on high level. Teteks are undefeated at home and plus managed to win three points away from home against Milano and are on the sixth place which can be considered as a good start for a newcomer. They have brought back talented youngster keeper Marko Jovanovski but it is expected Kolev to start the match between the posts. Rabotnicki, after their easy win over Fortuna in the cup with 6-0, will now certainly have much tougher challenge in front of them and will have to play without Vasko Bozinovski who earned a red card in the cup match. Teteks in the cup also noted a win away from home against Belasica (1-3).

A match between two Skopje-based teams will happen on the largest Macedonian stadium where Vardar will meet Metalurg. Both teams are on positions where they most certainly don’t want to be with only 5 points won so far. Metalurg still hasn’t got a victory and they finally managed to take one but in the cup competition against Pobeda at home with minimal 1-0. The atmosphere at the team is not at the highest level, but the cup win could serve as a morale-booster. Vardar at the moment is certainly more focused on the possible entrance of Croatian sponsor and players can be at least a bit more satisfied and concentrated on their challenge ahead after they have received one salary. Last season meetings between these two were ending with low number of goals.

In Prilep, Pobeda will try to take the first points despite having drawn three times so far when they meet Sloga Jugomagnat. Stuck on the 11th place with no points the team from Prilep must start turning things in their favor because this is certainly not the start they were hoping for. Sloga on the other hand are having a good start and with 8 points so far are on the middle of the table and can be pleased with their score. This should be a game where the hosts would like to pile the pressure early on and take the points but Sloga proved that they are no pushovers and should be an evenly match exciting to watch.
