If Vardar wins this round and Metalurg fails to defeat Renova on the road, Vardar will officially be crowned champions. Meanwhile, Horizont Turnovo and Teteks square off in a direct duel to avoid relegation.
The league champion can be officially decided in Round 30 of the Macedonian First League as Vardar travels away to Kratovo to take on Sileks. Vardar needs a win, to go along with a Metalurg draw or loss against Renova in Tetovo, to officially become the new league champion for the 2011/12 season.
Third placed Shkendija hosts Bregalnica from Shtip this round. The home team’s goal for the is to catch Metalurg for a second place finish, as they have no chnace to defend the title.
Horizont Turnovo and Teteks both occupy spots that guarantee a place in the relegation play-off at the present moment, but Ohrid is not far behind. Ohrid trails 9th place Horizont Turnovo by three points and 10th placed Teteks by just two points. The encounter in Turnovo is expected to be intense with both teams aiming to snatch three points. Meanwhile, Ohrid travels away to 11 Oktomvri this round, a club that has already been regulated to the second division. Thus, Ohrid needs to find a way to beat the last placed team and possibly overtake either Horizont Turnovo or Teteks on the standings.
In the last game of the round, Rabotnichki, in 8th place, and Napredok, in 7th place, will both look to put some distance between themselves and the last relegation play-off spot.
