The 20th round is up next in the First League and it will be played over 2 days, with the derby between Shkendija and Vardar moved back one day to Thursday.
After the Ministry of Interior demanded that no matches are played in Tetovo over the next couple of days, the round will feature the Tetovo based clubs, who play at home, to choose different venues for their games. The big derby between Shkendija and Vardar was moved back to Thursday after Shkendija did not provide a suitable venue outside of Tetovo on time to FFM. No matches will be played in Tetovo over the next couple of days due to recent incidents around the country, and the match Shkendija-Vardar was deemed high risk. There was speculation that the match could be played in Struga, but that stadium was also apparently not acceptable to FFM.
Metalurg and Bregalnica will play their match on Wednesday, as scheduled. Metalurg drew against Sileks with a last minute goal in the opening game of the second half this past Sunday, while Bregalnica was defeated deep into stoppage time 2:3 against Shkendija at home after initially coming back from a two goal deficit to tie the game at 2:2.
Rabotnicki and Renova will also play on Wednesday at the ‘Boris Trajkovski’ stadium in Madzari. Both of these teams drew 1:1 last Sunday, the former against Napredok on the road and the latter against 11 Oktomvri at home.
Near the bottom of the table, 11 Oktomvri will look to collect three points when they face Ohrid at home. 11 Oktomvri is in last place and needs this win against Ohrid to get some confidence. Ohrid made many changes to the squad over the winter break so 11 Oktomvri will fancy their chances to claim a victory in front of the home crowd in Prilep.
Horizont Turnovo will host Sileks and this match will be streamed live on FFM’s website through a new feature called “Online TV” that was recently introduced by FFM on its official website.
On Thursday, Teteks, as stated earlier, will square off against Napredok in Madzari while no venue has been announced, at this time, for the derby of the round between Shkendija and Vardar that is also supposed to be played on Thursday. FFM has given Shkendija until 10:00 CET tomorrow to announce a suitable venue for the match against Vardar.
