Goalkeeper Ivan Necevski and Robert Stambolziev were unused substitutes for Sydney, while their teammate Christopher Naumoff began on the left wing and played all 90 minutes. Naumoff had a significant role in Sydney’s win as he provided the assist on the first goal, scored by Bernie Ibini-Isei, and then got on the scoresheet himself in the 90th minute. Sydney reached the grand final where they will face Melbourne Victory this Sunday.

Orhan Ademi got the start for Aalen and played until the 81st minute when he made way for André Hainault. Ademi opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a right-footed shot from inside the box. It marked the second consecutive game in which Ademi scored a goal.

Erdal Rakip opened on the bench for Malmö before he was introduced directly after the halftime break to replace Enoch Kofi Adu. Meanwhile, his teammate Marko Johansson wasn’t called up for this game. Malmö was close to collecting all three points, but Elfsborg’s Marcus Rohdén scored an equalizer deep into stoppage time.
