Portimonense observing Stefan Spirovski

Spirovski (in yellow) playing for MacedoniaPortimonense of Portugal’s second division could be the next team of Stefan Spirovski come the winter transfer window.

As Portuguese newspapers are reporting, Stefan Spirovski is already training with Portimonense and could be their first signing in the winter transfer window if he impresses manager Lázaro Oliveira.  Spirovski arrived in Portugal several days ago and he was brought to the attention of Portimonense by a man named Rui Rocha.

Portimonense is currently in 1st place of the Portuguese second division.  After 17 rounds in the 2013-14 season, Portimonense has 33 points, one more than second placed Moreirense.  However, the race at the top is very close as only eight points separate teams from 1st to 11th place.

The 23-year-old Spirovski has been under contract with Serbian club Borac Čačak since January of 2010.  He moved there from his hometown club Pelister.  Although he originally scored in his debut with Borac Čačak, Spirovski has not received consistent playing time, even after the club was relegated to the Serbian second division following the 2011-12 season.  This season, Stefan has just 2 league appearances to his name out of a possible 15 games.

Stefan was able to travel to Portugal since the 1st half of the Serbian second division ended on 23 November.  The next game for Borac Čačak is not until March of next year, following the lengthy winter break, so Spirovski will be able to pursue a new team in the meantime.  That new team could be Portimonense if he is able to leave a good impression in trainings.
