Inter’s Goran Pandev won the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup.
Rafael Benítez’s lads are world champions after beating African side Mazembe with 3:0. Goran Pandev was one of the best players at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Pandev used an amazing through ball from Samuel Eto’o in the 13th minute and with quality finishing provided the opening goal and opened the way to a new title for him and his club. 4 minutes later Eto’o doubled the lead when Pandev wasn’t able to control a ball passed by captain Javier Zanetti, but the Cameroonian striker shot hard and into the goal.
Pandev had another effort in the 20th minute, but his shot was blocked. He sent an excellent ball behind the defense in the 40th minute, but Diego Milito wasn’t able to hit it on target. Jonathan Biabiany set the final score in the 86th minute.
‘I am happy with my performance and for my team. We demonstrated we are a real team. Eto’o served me a great ball this evening, but it was a great performance from the entire team. I want to thank players, fans, everyone. Let’s enjoy this fifth trophy.’ – said Pandev after the match.
After his arriving in Inter in January, Pandev won 5 titles.
