Aleksandar Mitreski signs for Aarau

Former Macedonian national team player Aleksandar Mitreski will continue his career in FC Aarau.

The Swiss club who was relegated last season is searching for reinforcement for the second half of the season as they are facing with a tough battle against another relegation, but this time in the third league.

Mitreski signed a contract untill the end of the current season. The defensive midfielder who can also play as defender has much experience in the Swiss leagues as he used to play for Ittigen, Young Boys, Grasshoppers and Sion who was his last club where his contract was terminated by the club’s president due to as late night visits to a casino. Sion gave Mitreski the chance to tell his side of the story but he lied about how many times he was at the casino so the president decided to terminate his contract. He has also a Bundes experience as he was part of Köln and Nürnberg. Mitreski has played 32 times for Macedonia, but his last game was couple of years ago.

In the Swiss Challenge League Aarau is currently 13th out of 16 teams with 13 points, four more than dead last Yverdon. Striker Aco Stojkov is also part of the club but it is expected to be sold in January.
