The fear among Mechelen was that Tome Pachovski had suffered a torn ankle ligament, an injury that can sideline a player for multiple months.  Today, a specialist evaluated Pachovski and Mechelen reported that the doctor could see an injury to the ankle, but he gave some good news in that Tome does not have a torn ligament.  Instead, Pachovski will resume walking exercises next week and then it will be known how long the Macedonian keeper will be sidelined with his injury.

Pachovski will obviously be out of action once again this weekend when Mechelen takes on Oostende on Saturday.  Beyond that, Mechelen should have a better understanding of how long Pachovski will be out next week when he resumes some exercises.  However, it’s safe to say that the injury also puts in risk Tome’s potential availability for the Macedonian national team when they take on Latvia in a friendly early next month on 5 March.
