Ilcho Naumoski scored two goals, the second in the 87th minute proving to be the game winner, to help Mattersburg down Sturm Graz in the third round of the 2012/13 Austrian season.
Mattersburg trailed 0:1 at halftime but Ilcho Naumoski quickly tied the game in the 48th minute when he scored an easy goal from close range after the Sturm Graz could not prevent a rebound opportunity on a saved header by Naumoski’s strike partner Patrick Bürger. The match remained 1:1 until the 87th minute when Naumoski added his second goal of the game which proved to be the game winner to hand Mattersburg all three points. On the second goal, a poor clearance attempt by Sturm Graz reached Naumoski who created some space with some good moves before slotting a left footed shot to the bottom left corner. After the goal, Sturm Graz fans, located behind the goal, threw objects at Naumoski which only seemed to enrage Ilcho who ran down the sidelines, picked up a bucket of water and spilled it on himself.
Moments later, Naumoski was substituted by the manager with Romanian international Florin Lovin coming on to take his place. Lovin, less than a minute after entering the match, scored Mattersburg’s third goal to cement the 3:1 home victory. After three rounds in the 2012/13 Austrian season, Mattersburg has amassed two wins and one loss for a total of 6 points.
