Valmir Nafiu of Hamburg and Marko Simonovski of Amkar have been given the green light to seek transfers.
Both Valmir Nafiu and Marko Simonovski did not travel with Hamburg and Amkar, respectively, to their winter camps. Hamburg departed for Dubai without Nafiu, while Simonovski was left in Russia while Amkar traveled to Antalya, Turkey.
Nafiu, whose contract expires in the summer, has been told loud and clear that he has no future at Hamburg. The German club doesn’t feel he has the quality to play in the Bundesliga right now, while he can’t play for their reserve team since he is a non EU player. Thus, it serves no purpose for him to remain with Hamburg. Valmir has been linked with St. Pauli of the second division.
Meanwhile, Simonovski also stayed back while his team, Amkar, departed for their winter training camp in Turkey. Marko, who is eligible to play for Amkar’s reserve team, will only train with the reserves until he finds a new team. The problem for Simonovski is that the manager that brought him to Amkar, Slavoljub Muslin, was let go after some bad results. The new manager does not have Marko in his plans, leading to this decision. To be fair, Simonovski failed to make an impact in several brief appearances during the 1st half of the season.
