Midfielder Muharem Bajrami (27) will continue his career in Belarus side Gomel.
Muharem Bajrami leaves Renova to join Belarusian side Gomel, Renova’s opponent from this season Europa League competition.
Muharem Bajrami is 27 years old midfielder who was one of the better links in an otherwise poor Renova this season. During last season he was by far one of the most important players of the team, scoring 13 goals and leading his team to win the domestic cup, which earned him a place in MacedonianFootball.com’s team of the season. Renova began this season with UEFA Europa League matches, against Libertas from San Marino in the first round when Bajrami scored 3 goals out of Renova’s 8, while in the second round Renova faced Bajrami’s new club Gomel and lost at home 0:2 only to win 0:1 away from home, which was not enough to advance to the next round and face Liverpool.
“We were negotiating during the past two weeks after they have shown interest in me during our Europa League matches and today we have made a deal” – Bajrami told MacedonianFootball.com. He has signed a year long contract with Gomel.
“I speak Russian fluently which should be a good advantage for me for my adaptation period. I know Gomel are a great side in Belarusian football and I am very happy I signed for them. I am ready to give everything I know in order to reach the club ambitions for the next season” – added Bajrami. The club’s preparation period starts on the 10th of January and Bajrami will arrive there a day earlier.
Besides being a key member of Renova during the past couple of seasons, Bajrami spent a part of his career in Lithuania where he played in Kaunas and Šilutė.
