Goran Pandev started for Napoli and played until the 81st minute when he was substituted by Giandomenico Mesto. Pandev played a part in the opening three goals for Napoli, all scored by Edinson Cavani, by being credited with two assists. On the first goal in the 4th minute, Goran sent a through ball to Cavani who then fired a shot past the Roma keeper for an early 1:0 lead. Then, in the 48th minute, a pass intended for Pandev inside the area was cleared by opposing defender Federico Balzaretti, but the ball fell to Cavani who then managed to find the back of the net. Finally, in the 70th minute, Pandev’s corner from the right was sent home by Cavani who completed his hat-trick.

Nikola Gligorov began the game on the bench for Alki before he came on in the 68th minute replacing Bernardo Vasconcelos. Several minutes later, Alki managed to take the 0:1 lead on the road but APOEL scored a late equalizer in the 90th minute to settle for a point.
