Ivanovski’s Arka to face Legia in cup semifinal

Mirko Ivanovski’s club Arka was drawn to face Legia Warszawa in the semifinal of the Polish Cup .

The draw for the semifinal matchups of the Polish Cup took place yesterday and Mirko Ivanovski’s Arka was drawn to face Polish giants and current leaders in the Ekstraklasa, Legia Warszawa.

“All of the remaining teams were strong opponents but we, as a team, are looking forward to this challenge” Mirko Ivanovski stated in a short interview we conducted today.

Mirko is regaining his first team status in Arka after he was relegated to the reserves.  He played the last 15 minutes in Arka’s last match against Olimpia Elblag.

“The manager could simply not count on me as a starter because I was not part of the winter training camp in Turkey, but he did give me a 20-day training regime for me to work alone in Gdynia and I fully respected that.  I now feel ready for matches and hope that I will regain my place in the first team” Mirko told MacedonianFootball.com before adding – “It is good that the leading teams of the second division slipped some points in the last round and we are now only 5 points behind a promotion place with 12 rounds to go.  We will give 100% and we will fight for promotion until the last round  with a hope to pull off a surprise in the domestic up as well.  Our first match is next Wednesday against Legia at home, and the return leg is seven days later.  We’ve made it to the semi finals, we can make it even further” – concluded Ivanovski who expects to be a starter in the coming matches for Arka.
