Striker Mirko Ivanovski was handed a rare start for Astra and picked up one assist in an emphatic 4:1 victory over Vaslui.
Mirko Ivanovski, who has not received much playing time over the past couple of months, found himself in the starting lineup during Monday’s game between Astra and Vaslui. Ivanovski played all 90 minutes and recorded the assist on the third Astra goal in the 53rd minute. After a bad touch by a Vaslui defender, Ivanovski made a backheel pass to his teammate Denis Alibec who did the rest with a calm finish past the Vaslui keeper. That goal made it 3:0 for Astra who went on to win the game 4:1.
For Astra, this was their 34th and final league game of the season. They finished in 2nd place behind Steaua București. Those two teams will also square off in the Romanian Cup final this Friday.
