Although he has one more year remaining on his contract, Mirko Ivanovski wants to leave Arka and has received permission from the club to seek a new team.
After Arka was relegated from the Polish top division this past season, many players have asked to leave the club including Ivanovski. The players do not want to play in the second division and Arka has already started bringing in young players on trial to compensate for the players who are expected to leave the team. Mirko Ivanovski signed a two year deal with Arka in the summer of 2010 and was a regular this past season as he made 27 appearances and scored three goals but his team was not able to avoid relegation. Due to Ivanovski having one more year on his contract, he will either have to agree to mutually terminate his contract with Arka or an interested team will have to pay a transfer fee for his services.
Ivanovski is 21 years old and began his career with his hometown club Pelister and has since played for Makedonija Gjorce Petrov, Slavia Praha in the Czech Republic, and Arka Gdynia. Ivanovski has shown versatility as he played both centre forward and as a winger for Arka last season. He was a regular member of the Macedonian U21 national team and has also made one appearance for the senior national team in a friendly against China on 22 December 2010.
