Milevski announce squad list for September qualifiers

New national team coach Blagoja Milevski today at noon revealed his first list of summoned players as Macedonia has three upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.

Milevski replaced Igor Angelovski after the 2020 EURO and will close the current 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in which all of the rest 7 matches will be played this autumn.

The past days it was topical the news of debutantes getting a call as revealed by their respective clubs. Milevski decided to give a fresh start to the national team and also included players like Adis Jahovic who were unwanted by his predecessor. Back in the squad are keeper Iliev, wingback Ashkovski and winger Gjorgjev, while debutantes are right back Todoroski, central defender Serafimov and attacker Miovski.

Midfielders Ademi and Nikolov are listed, however the are questionable. Ademi is still injured and it is unknown if he will be match ready for any of the games, while Nikolov is COVID-19 positive and until he get a negative test won’t be able to join the NT.

Macedonia first welcomes group leaders Armenia on the 2nd in Skopje, three days later faces Iceland away on the 5th, while will close the September matches at home against Romania on the Independence Day, 8 September.
