Midweek internationals performances

Agim Ibraimi shoots and scores; photo: Yahoo!Aleksandar Todorovski scored his first competitive goal for Polonia Warszawa, Agim Ibraimi found the back of the net for Maribor in the Europa League, Mirko Ivanovski was on target for Arka to propel his team to the next round of the Polish Cup, while Stevica Ristić received a red card for being involved in a brawl between Suwon and Al-Sadd.

UEFA Champions League, Group A, Napoli – Bayern München 1:1
Goran Pandev remains out with an injury for Napoli who managed to pick up a point against the German giants Bayern München who have been rolling this season.

UEFA Champions League, Group G, Porto – APOEL 1:1
Ivan Trickovski started for APOEL and played until the 90th minute when he was replaced by Aldo Adorno.  Trickovski played on the left wing but was asked to track back and help out defensively as APOEL played defensive and organized football.  Ivan also received a yellow card in the 47th minute for diving as that was one of 11 yellow cards handed out by the referee.

UEFA Europa League, Group E, Dynamo Kyiv – Beşiktaş 1:0
Goran Popov played the entire game for Dynamo Kyiv and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet.  The Ukrainian club recorded a dramatic victory with Denys Garmash scoring the lone goal of the game in the fourth minute of stoppage time in the 90th minute.  The goal came on a volley following a corner kick from the right.

UEFA Europa League, Group H, Maribor – Braga 1:1
Agim Ibraimi played all 90 minutes for Maribor and scored the lone goal for his team in the 14th minute.  Agim was pretty fortunate as the ball took a good deflection before Ibraimi slotted a left footed shot past the Braga keeper.  However, Braga scored the equalizer just before halftime so both teams had to settle for a point.

AFC Champions League, Semi-finals, Suwon – Al-Sadd 0:2
Stevica Ristić started for Suwon and played until the 85th minute when he was shown a straight red card by the referee for taking part in a brawl.  Almost every player on both teams was involved in the brawl but the referee singled out just two players, one of them being Macedonian international Stevica Ristić.  That means Ristić is suspended for the return leg in Qatar as Suwon faces a daunting task to overcome the 0:2 deficit from the first leg.

Russia, Perviy Divizion, Sibir – Ural 0:0
Velice Sumulikoski played all 90 minutes in defensive midfield for Sibir as his team was held to a goalless home draw against Ural.

Poland, Remes Puchar Polski, Arka – Polonia Warszawa 3:1
Aleksandar Todorovski played the entire game for Polonia Warszawa while Mirko Ivanovski also got the start for his team Arka and played until the 89th minute when he was replaced by Piotr Kasperkiewicz.  Both Macedonian players were able to reach the back of the net.  First, in the 47th minute, with Polonia losing 2:0, Todorovski scored a nice goal directly from a free kick to cut the deficit to 2:1.  However, the visiting club missed a huge chance in the 72nd minute to tie the game and then going the other way, on a counter attack, Ivanovski showed good pace and finishing skills by scoring calmly past the opposing keeper.  Mirko also received a yellow card in the 58th minute.

Czech Republic, Gambrinus liga, Viktoria Žižkov – Slavia Praha 1:0
Ilija Nestorovski was an unused substitute for Viktoria Žižkov.

Slovakia, Slovnaft Cup, Košice – Zlaté Moravce 2:2
Darko Tofiloski played from the start for Košice and conceded two goals in the first leg of the Slovak Cup matchup against Zlaté Moravce.  Tofiloski made a good dave in the 59th minute to deny Pavol Majerník from a dangerous position so this matchup will be decided in the return leg.

Romania, Liga I Bergenbier, Ceahlăul – Dinamo Bucureşti 0:5
Kristijan Naumovski was not called up by Dinamo Bucureşti as Cristian Bălgrădean started in goal while George Curcă was on the bench as the #2 keeper.
