Dynamo Kyiv suffered a disappointing home loss against Rubin Kazan and faces a daunting challenge in the return leg to avoid an early elimination from the competition.

Ivan Trickovski started on the bench for APOEL before he entered the game in the 72nd minute replacing Aldo Adorno. Trickovski had a good chance in the 75th minute but his shot with his weaker left foot from a good position went wide of the goal.

Agim Ibraimi played the entire game for Maribor and contributed on the only goal for his team in the 27th minute. Ibraimi made a nice dribble before he passed the ball to Dejan Mezga who then found Marcos Tavares whose nice shot went past the opposing keeper.

Nikolce Noveski played all 90 minutes for Mainz who were held to a disappointing draw against Gaz Metan Mediaș. The visitors scored their lone goal in the 60th minute following a free kick which ended up in the crowded penalty area and the ball found a visiting player who slotted a shot past the Mainz keeper.

Martin Bogatinov played from the start for Karpaty Lviv and kept a clean sheet. Bogatinov wasn’t tested much and only had to make one difficult save in the 63rd minute when he denied Derek Doyle.

Muhamed Demiri started for Thun and played until the 88th minute when he was replaced by Dennis Hediger. Thun came close to beating Palermo but the home side scored the game tying goal in the 90th minute.

Darko Tasevski started for Levski and played until the 56th minute when he was replaced by Sjoerd Ars. Tasevski started in the playmaker position for Levski in a 4-2-3-1 formation but had a subpar game before he was substituted early in the 2nd half. Ars, who came on for Tasevski, actually scored the game winning goal for Levski in the second minute of stoppage time in the 90th minute.

Kristijan Naumovski was an unused substitute for Dinamo Bucureşti as he was the #2 keeper behind Cristian Bălgrădean. Dinamo Bucureşti was a huge favorite in this game so they will be disappointed to have only drawn against Varaždin.
