Goran Pandev and Inter beat CSKA Moskva in the 1st leg of the Champions League quarterfinal, while Mirko Ivanovski has a new manager as his team Slavia Praha decided to make a change after a run of poor results.
UEFA Champions League, Inter – CSKA Moskva 1:0
Goran Pandev started for Inter at left wing in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Pandev had his first chance in the 22nd minute with a dangerous shot from distance that was just over the goal. He did okay in the 1st half but was much more active in the 2nd half where he had a ton of chances but his finishing let him down. In the 62nd minute, Pandev would of had a great chance to score but him and Diego Milito were not on the same page and Milito’s pass was off the mark. A minute later, Pandev was set up by Wesley Sneijder and attempted a left footed shot from just outside the box but his shot was saved by the CSKA Moskva keeper. In the 70th minute, Pandev waited too long to shoot and his shot was eventually blocked from close range. Two minutes later, Pandev showed great skill and got around the keeper but his shot didn’t have much power and it gave CSKA defender Vasiliy Berezutski enough time to clear the shot and prevent Pandev from scoring his first Champions League goal for Inter. Pandev’s final chance came in the 90th minute with another shot from distance but again the CSKA Moskva keeper made another save. Inter will be disappointed with the result as they dominated the match and should of scored more goals. Pandev was substituted just seconds before the referee blew the final whistle. The return leg will be on Tuesday, April 6 in Russia.
France, Ligue 1, Monaco – Auxerre 0:0
Robert Popov was not among the 18 players called up by Auxerre.

Belgium, Jupiler League, Germinal Beerschot – Racing Genk 1:3
Tome Pacovski was an unused substitute for Germinal Beerschot as they gave their 17 year old keeper Thomas Kaminski a chance to start. These last couple of games are not important for Germinal as they didn’t finish in the top 6 so they have no chance to qualify for the Champions League or the Europa League. They are just playing for pride so Germinal will give their young players a chance to play and gain some experience.

Baník Ostrava put the game away in the 65th minute when they scored to make it 3:1. Ivanovski was fairly quiet the rest of the way and received a yellow card in the 69th minute. Bulgaria, Bulgarian Cup, Beroe – CSKA Sofia 1:0
Igor Mitreski was not called up by CSKA Sofia. Mitreski says he is hurt but the CSKA manager said all the tests have come back normal and he thinks that Mitreski no longer wants to play for CSKA Sofia.
