Midweek internationals performances

altIlija Nestorovski scored his first goal for Slovačko, Mario Gjurovski scores for Vojvodina after not playing the previous three games, Dragi Kocev scored a goal to help his team get a draw against CSKA Sofia, and Goran Pandev, Mensur Kurtisi, and Dusan Savić each had one assist for their respective teams.

Italy, Serie A, Inter – Livorno 3:0
Goran Pandev played all 90 minutes for Inter in a 4-3-3 formation and was very active in the first half even though there were occasions where he should of done better.  It started in the 5th minute when he had the ball in the box but fell too easily and then in the 19th minute when Samuel Eto’o found him but his shot from close range was off the mark.  Pandev did make a good run in the 28th minute and found Eto’o whose shot was blocked and it went for a corner.  Pandev then provided a nice assist for Inter’s second goal when Eto’o scored a spectacular goal.  There wasn’t a lot of action in the 2nd half as Livorno played with no passion and posed no threats to Inter.

Germany, DFB Pokal, Schalke 04 – Bayern München 0:1
Besart Ibraimi was not among the 18 players called up by Schalke, who were eliminated by Bayern München in the DFB Pokal.  With the win, Bayern reached the DFB Pokal final and will play against Werder Bremen on May 15th in Berlin.

France, Coupe de France, Auxerre – PSG 0:0
Robert Popov was not called up by Auxerre who were eliminated on penalty kicks by PSG.  The game remained scoreless after 120 minutes but PSG won 6:5 in the penalty kicks and advances to the semi-finals of the Coupe de France.

Russia, Premier-Liga, Tom Tomsk – Rubin Kazan 0:1
Goran Maznov played the 1st half for Tom Tomsk before he was substituted at halftime.  Rubin Kazan missed a penalty in the 29th minute but got the win when Aleksandr Bukharov scored the lone goal of the game in the 76th minute.  This was a very tense and physical game as there were a total of eleven yellow cards and three red cards between the two teams.

Ukraine, Vyshcha Liha, Arsenal Kiev – Vorskla Poltava 2:0
Filip Despotovski wasn’t even on the bench for Vorskla Poltava who continue their disappointing year.

Romania, Romanian Cup, Braşov – Vaslui 1:0
Dusan Savić provided the assist for Braşov in the 5th minute with a beautiful pass that found Ilyes who scored from close range.  Savić also unleashed a powerful shot in the 17th minute but his shot was saved and it went for a corner.  A little later, Savić did well to win the ball but his pass was behind Ilyes who would have scored if the pass was on target as the goalie was out of position.

Switzerland, Axpo Super League, Aarau – Sion 0:3
Aco Stojkov started on the bench for Aarau and entered the game in the 55th minute.  Stojkov’s best chance came in the 88th minute but his header was saved by the Sion keeper.  Stojkov also received a yellow card in the 78th minute.  Aleksandar Mitreski did not play for Sion because of an injury.

Austria, T-Mobile Bundesliga, Rapid Wien – Mattersburg 3:0
Goce Sedloski played all 90 minutes for Mattersburg who played Rapid Wien tough in the 1st half before Rapid scored three times in the 2nd half.  Ilco Naumoski served the final game of his suspension and he will be eligible to play in Mattursburg’s next game which is this Saturday against Red Bull Salzburg.  The third Macedonian on Mattersburg, Ostoja Stejepanović, was an unused substitute.

Austria, T-Mobile Bundesliga, Magna Wr Neustadt – Austria Kärnten 2:1
Mensur Kurtisi got the start for Magna and assisted on Magna’s first goal and Kurtisi did well in the 14th minute but his shot was well saved by the Austria Kärnten keeper.  Kurtisi played until the 64th minute when Diego Viana took his place.

England, League Championship, Middlesbrough – Preston North End 2:0
Velice Sumulikoski was not among the 18 players called up by Preston North End.

Czech Republic, 1. Gambrinus Liga, Slovačko – Slavia Praha 3:1

This was a match-up between two talented Macedonian internationals but Ilija Nestorovski and Slovacko got the better of Mirko Ivanovski and Slavia Praha.  Nestorovski was given the start by Slovačko manager Josef Mazura and he didn’t disappoint.  He had an assist and scored his first goal for Slovacko in the 26th minute to give his team the 2:1 lead.  They went on to add one more goal and got a much needed victory to distance themselves from the relegation zone.  Nestorovski played until the 77th minute when he was replaced by Petr Švancara.  For Slavia Praha, Ivanovski played all 90 minutes and had a couple of shots blocked in the 16th and 44th minute and should have done better in the 21st minute but the opposing keeper got to the ball before Ivanovski.  His teammate Riste Naumov did not play because of an injury.

Czech Republic, 1. Gambrinus Liga, Teplice – Slovačko 2:1
Ilija Nestorovski started for Slovačko and played until the 64th minute when he was replaced by Vit Valenta.  This was a tough loss for Slovačko as they took the lead in the 79th minute but allowed two late goals in the 82nd and 90th minute.

Czech Republic, 1. Gambrinus Liga, Slavia Praha – Slovan Liberec 0:2
Mirko Ivanovski was an unused substitute for Slavia.

Belgium, EXQI League, Tournai – Lierse 1:2
Nderim Nedzipi got the start for Lierse before he was substituted in the 2nd half.

Hungary, Hungarian Cup, Honved – Debreceni 1:1
Mirsad Mijadinoski did not play for Debreceni.

Poland, Polish Cup, Legia Warszawa – Ruch Chorzow 2:1
Pance Kumbev played the entire game for Legia who were eliminated in the Polish Cup by Ruch Chorzow.  Legia had the 1:0 lead after 90 minutes but they also lost 1:0 away to Ruch Chorzow in the first leg so the game went into extra time.  Ruch scored the all important away goal in the 108th minute before Legia scored in the 120th minute to get the win but it wasn’t enough as Ruch Chorzow advances because of the away goal advantage.

Bulgaria, A PFG, CSKA Sofia – Pirin 1:1
Igor Mitreski was not called up for this game by CSKA Sofia manager Ioan Andone as there were still safety concerns as foreign players on CSKA were attacked by their own fans in the last game.  For Pirin, Dragi Kocev and Zoran Zlatkovski got the start and they combined nicely in the 50th minute when Kocev opened the scoring and gave Pirin the 1:0 lead.  Kocev had another chance in the 72nd minute but his finishing let him down.  Zlatkovski was substituted in the 60th minute while Kocev played until the 89th minute.

Bulgaria, A PFG, Lokomotiv Sofia – Levski Sofia 2:0
Darko Tasevski remains out with an injury for Levski.

Bulgaria, A PFG, Slavia Sofia – Montana 4:0
Robert Petrov did not play for Slavia because of an injury.

Serbia, Jelen Superliga, Vojvodina – Partizan 1:2
Mario Gjurovski started on the bench for Vojvodina before he came on in the 33rd minute replacing Giorgi Merebashvili.  He scored the only goal for Vojvodina in the 55th minute and also had a chance in the 80th minute but his missile from 25 meters was just over the goal.  Aleksandar Lazevski was not called up by Partizan.

Serbia, Jelen Superliga, Borac – Rad 0:0
Stefan Spirovski made his second consecutive start for Borac and played the entire game as did Aleksandar Todorovski from Rad.

Serbia, Jelen Superliga, Javor – Jagodina 0:0
Filip Petrov played the 1st half for Javor but was substituted before the start of the 2nd half.

Serbia, Jelen Superliga, Smederevo – Red Star 1:2
Zoran Todorov
played from the start for Smederevo.
