Midweek internationals performances

Pandev moments after sending his effort past the Porto keeper; photo: Yahoo!Goran Pandev scored one goal for Napoli in the UEFA Europa League, Darko Glishikj got on the scoresheet for Dinamo Tbilisi, while Ilija Nestorovski added another goal for Inter Zaprešić.

UEFA Europa League, Round of 16, Napoli – Porto 2:2
Goran Pandev started in attacking midfield for Napoli and played until the 68th minute when he was substituted by Marek Hamsik.  Pandev grabbed the opening goal in the 21st minute when he chipped a shot over the Porto keeper following a pass by his teammate Gonzalo Higuain.  Napoli lost 2:3 on aggregate over the two games against Porto to exit the Europa League competition.

Italy, Serie A, Torino – Napoli 0:1
Goran Pandev was an unused substitute for Napoli.

Romania, Liga I Bergenbier, Vaslui – Botoșani 0:1
Aco Stojkov opened the game on the bench for Botoșani before he was introduced in the 60th minute to replace Aurimas Vertelis.  Botoșani scored the lone goal in the 79th minute to take home three points from the trip to Vaslui.

Azerbaijan, Azərbaycan kuboku, Khazar Lankaran – Araz 1:0
Dejan Blazhevski played all 90 minutes for Khazar Lankaran, while his teammate Nikola Gligorov came off the bench in the 78th minute to take the place of Tounkara Sadio.

Azerbaijan, Azərbaycan kuboku, Qarabağ – Gabala 1:2
Muarem Muarem played the opening 45 minutes for Qarabağ before he was replaced at the start of the 2nd half by Reynaldo Silva.  After the first leg finished 0:0 last week, Gabala came on the winning side in the return leg to eliminate Qarabağ from the competition.

Azerbaijan, Azərbaycan kuboku, Neftçi – Inter Bakı 0:0
Igor Mitreski played the entire game for Neftçi and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet, while Slavcho Georgievski was an unused substitute for Inter Bakı.  It was 1:1 on aggregate over the two games, but Neftçi came out on top due to the all important away goal in the first leg.

Azerbaijan, Azərbaycan kuboku, Bakı – Ravan 0:1  (Ravan advanced 8:7 on penalty kicks)
Edin Nuredinoski stayed on the bench for Bakı as the #2 keeper behind Aqil Mammadov.  Each team won 0:1 on the road so this game was decided on penalty kicks after a scoreless 30 minutes of extra time.  Ravan prevailed 8:7 in the penalty shootout to advance to the domestic cup semi-finals.

Cyprus, First Division Championship, Ethnikos Achnas – Enosis 1:1
Besart Ibraimi played all 90 minutes for Enosis who was relegated to the second division with the draw against Ethnikos Achnas.  This was the final round of the regular season in Cyprus and Enosis finished second from bottom on the standings, leading to direct regulation.  Enosis would have escaped the drop with a win, but they could only muster a draw to secure relegation.

Cyprus, First Division Championship, Anorthosis – Ermis 0:1
Armend Alimi started in midfield for Ermis and played until the 78th minute when he was replaced by defender Dragan Žarković as the visitors were looking to protect their slim lead.

Cyprus, First Division Championship, Apollon – Aris Limassol 3:2
Filip Timov was an unused substitute for Aris Limassol.

Bulgaria, Kupa na Bulgaria, Chernomorets – Lokomotiv Sofia 2:3
Aleksandar Damchevski played from the start for Chernomorets and also received a yellow card in the 23rd minute.  Chernomorets lost 2:4 on aggregate over the two games against Lokomotiv Sofia to be eliminated from the Bulgarian Cup.

Georgia, Georgian Cup, Dinamo Tbilisi – Metalurgi Rustavi 4:1
Darko Glishikj played the entire game for Dinamo Tbilisi and scored the fourth goal for the home side in the 47th minute.  Glishikj connected from close range after a cross from the right hand side.

Croatia, 2.HNL, Sesvete – Inter Zaprešić 3:3
Ilija Nestorovski played all 90 minutes for Inter Zaprešić and scored the first goal for his team in the 54th minute.  Inter Zaprešić came back from a 3:0 halftime deficit to score three goals in the 2nd half, their final one coming deep into stoppage time of the 90th minute.
