Georgievski (R) battles with Kevin-Prince Boateng; photo: vancouversun.comGroup stage play got underway in the Champions League and Europa League, while Muhamed Demiri made the bench in his first competitive match for St. Gallen after a lengthy injury.

UEFA Champions League, Group F, Napoli – Borussia Dortmund 2:1
Goran Pandev started on the bench for Napoli before he entered the game in the 78th minute replacing Gonzalo Higuaín.  Pandev had one shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but his effort was saved by the Borussia Dortmund keeper.

UEFA Champions League, Group E, Schalke 04 – Steaua București 3:0
Daniel Georgievski played all 90 minutes for Steaua București who played well for large stretches of the game, but then conceded three goals after the 67th minute to suffer the road defeat against Schalke 04.

UEFA Europa League, Group A, St. Gallen – Kuban 2:0
Muhamed Demiri was an unused substitute for St. Gallen.

UEFA Europa League, Group J, Apollon – Trabzonspor 1:2
Bojan Markoski remains sidelined with an injury for Apollon.

Romania, Liga I Bergenbier, Viitorul – Botoșani 0:0
Boban Nikolov played the entire game for Viitorul in the goalless home draw against Botoșani.  Although Nikolov plays in attack for the Macedonian U21 national team, he plays primarily at right-back for Viitorul in Romanian league action.

Bulgaria, Kupa na Bulgaria, Botev Plovdiv – Neftochimic 6:0
Boban Grncharov played all 90 minutes for Botev Plovdiv and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet.  Botev Plovdiv moves on to the next round of the Bulgarian Cup with the convincing win against Neftochimic.

Bulgaria, Kupa na Bulgaria, CSKA Sofia – Haskovo 6:2
Hristijan Kirovski was not included in the 18 player squad by CSKA Sofia as he appears to have fallen out of favor with the club’s manager.

Bulgaria, Kupa na Bulgaria, Levski – Pirin 4:0
Dragi Kocev was not among the 18 players called up by Pirin who was officially eliminated from the domestic cup with the heavy loss against Levski.

Slovakia, Corgoň Liga, Košice – Ružomberok 2:2
Darko Tofiloski played from the start for Košice and conceded two goals, the second coming in stoppage time of the 90th minute.

Turkey, PTT 1. Lig, Bucaspor – Denizlispor 1:0
Bajram Fetai opened on the bench for Denizlispor before he was introduced in the 65th minute to take the place of Onur Alkan.

Georgia, Umaglesi Liga, Dinamo Tbilisi – Spartaki Tskhinvali 2:0
Darko Glishikj got the start for Dinamo Tbilisi and played until the 87th minute when he was substituted by Giorgi Seturidze.

Cyprus, First Division Championship, Ermis – Alki 3:1
Armend Alimi started on the bench for Ermis before he entered the game in the 75th minute replacing Luis Morán.

Slovenia, Pokal Slovenije, Drava – Domžale 0:4
Zeni Husmani played the entire game for Domžale and also received a yellow card in the 90th minute.  Domžale easily advanced to the next round of the Slovenian Cup with the comfortable win over Drava.
