Aleksandar Trajkovski played all 90 minutes for Zulte Waregem on the right wing in a 4-2-3-1 formation in a matchup between the top two teams on the standings in Belgium. Trajkovski thought he opened the scoring in the 64th minute, but his goal was disallowed as replays showed he was just a tad offside. However, eight minutes later, Zulte Waregem did score a goal to celebrate an impressive road victory over Anderlecht. The win meant that Zulte Waregem is now just six points behind Anderlecht, and they also have a game in hand.

Muhamed Demiri started for Thun in defensive midfield and played until the 68th minute when he made way for Macedonia born striker Berat Sadik. Thun was trailing 0:1 at that time but managed to score the equalizer in the 79th minute, forcing extra time after it remained 1:1 at the conclusion of 90 minutes. In extra time, Alex Frei netted a goal in the 115th minute for Basel to eliminate Thun from the Swiss Cup.

Adis Jahovikj got the start for Zürich and played until the 67th minute when he was replaced by Amine Chermiti. Going against the team that loaned him to Zürich, Adis had a good chance in the 56th minute but his effort went wide of the goal post. It was 1:1 after 90 minutes so the match went into extra time where Zürich outscored Wil 3:1, for a final of 4:2, to reach the semi-finals of the domestic cup.

Agim Ibraimi played the entire game for Maribor who came back from a goal down to score three unanswered goals in the first leg of its quarter-final matchup against Olimpija. Ibraimi was credited with the assist on the first Maribor goal in the 69th minute when he made a simple pass to Dejan Mezga who then scored a great goal with a curling shot to the back of the net. Ibraimi also played a part in the third goal in the 90th minute when his corner reached defender Nejc Potokar whose header towards goal was tapped in by Aleksander Rajčevič for an easy goal to put the game away.
