Goran Pandev assisted for Napoli but his team exited the Italian Cup competition with a loss to Bologna, while Nikolche Noveski and Mainz defeated Schalke 04 to advance to the quarter finals of the German Cup.

Goran Pandev played all 90 minutes for Napoli who suffered a second consecutive late loss against Bologna, this time in the Italian Cup.  Napoli was thus eliminated from the competition.  Pandev provided the assist on the lone Napoli goal in the 12th minute when his corner was headed home by Edinson Cavani.  Goran also had a big chance in the 85th minute but he hit the post from a good position inside the area.

Germany, DFB-Pokal, Schalke 04 – Mainz 1:2
Nikolche Noveski played the entire game for Mainz who got narrowly got past Schalke to reach the quarter-finals of the German Cup.
