Mensur Kurtisi officially signed for Shkendija

Attacker Mensur Kurtisi has signed a contract for 6 months with Shkendija with an option to extend it for another year.

It is now official, Mensur Kurtisi has signed a contract with the defending Macedonian champions Shkendija.  His first priority was to remain abroad but he didn’t receive the right offer so he has decided to continue his career in Macedonia with Shkendija.  Kurtisi comes as a free agent after spending last year in Saudi Arabia.  He was on trial at Karpaty Lviv earlier this summer but the Ukrainian club did not offer him a contract.  Kurtisi has spent most of his football career in Austria with Parndorf and Magna Wiener Neustadt.  Mensur also made two caps for the Macedonian national team during friendlies in the summer of 2010.  One of the reasons he chose Shkendija is because the new manager of the national team will have an easier time following his performances playing in Macedonia instead of another country.  He might even make his Shkendija debut tomorrow in the home game against 11 Oktomvri.  Kurtisi is 25 years old and his biggest accomplishment to date was being named the best player of the Austrian second division during the 2007/08 season.  Mensur was a product of the Rapid Wien youth system but never ended up playing for their first team.
