Marko Simonovski reaches deal with RNK Split

Free agent striker Marko Simonovski has signed a 3 year contract with RNK Split, per an announcement on that club’s website.

RNK Split received an infusion of cash last week when they sold Marko Rog to Dinamo Zagreb for a reported 4 million Euros. They used a little bit of that money to reinforce its squad, one of their new signings being Marko Simonovski.

The 23-year-old striker moves to Croatia as a free agent after he was released by Amkar Perm. Istra 1961 also had interest in Simonovski from the Croatian league, but RNK Split offered the better contract.

On their official website, RNK Split said that Simonovski agreed to terms yesterday, but the transfer became official on Friday after he passed his medical.

The new season in Croatia gets underway next weekend. Besides Simonovski, other Macedonian players based there include Arijan Ademi (Dinamo Zagreb), Ilija Nestorovski (Inter Zapresic) and Muzafer Ejupi (Slaven Belupo).
