In his first competitive match for Zwolle, Denis Mahmudov scored two goals to lead Zwolle to the semi-finals of the Dutch Cup.

Zwolle booked its place in the semi-finals of the Dutch Cup with a resounding 5:1 win over JVC Cuijk on Wednesday.  Zwolle led 3:0 at halftime and decided to bring on Denis Mahmudov at the start of the 2nd half.  Mahmudov, who was making his competitive debut for Zwolle, responded by scoring two goals in the 60th and 78th minute.

Although scuffling in league play, Zwolle has cruised in the Dutch Cup where they have become one of the final four teams still standing.  Zwolle has defeated Fortuna Sittard, Wilhelmina ’08, Excelsior and now JVC Cujik to reach the semi-finals.  The other three teams still alive in the competition are Ajax, N.E.C. and AZ Alkmaar.

The matchups for the semi-finals have already been decided.  Later on Wednesday, Zwolle was drawn to face N.E.C. in the semi-finals, while AZ Alkmaar vs. Ajax will be the other matchup.
