Italy, Serie A, Inter – Parma 5:2
Goran Pandev played the entire game for Inter as the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Samuel Eto’o being suspended but Pandev did not take advantage of the opportunity and had another poor game. His first chance came in the 52nd minute but his shot from the edge of the box was just wide of the right goal post but his best chance came in the 80th minute when Thiago Motta made a nice pass but Pandev shockingly hit the side netting from close range with an open goal in front of him as the Parma keeper was out of position. Pandev did get credited for the assist on Inter’s fourth goal in the 72nd minute but it was a lucky play as Marco Materazzi played the ball in the box and the ball went of the head of Pandev and it fell perfectly for Thiago Motta who scored just minutes after entering the game. Pandev kept on losing possession of the ball and sometimes a final score can be deceiving and that was the case in this game as Parma played much better than the score would indicate as they hit the post two times and had more shots on goal than Inter.
