Macedonian internationals performances

Italy, Coppa Italia, Palermo – Avellino 2:1
Aleksandar Trajkovski was an unused substitute for Palermo. The narrow win allowed Palermo to advance to the fourth round of the Italian Cup. As for the other Macedonian player in Italy, Goran Pandev, his team (Genoa) automatically qualified for the Round of 16 in the Italian Cup by finishing in the top-8 last season. Thus, they weren’t in action this weekend nor will they have to participate in the fourth round.

Vanche Shikov played the entire game for Austria Wien who bounced back from their heavy loss to Rapid Wien by beating Mattersburg 5:1. All five goals for Austria Wien came after a red card was shown to Mattersburg. As for the lone goal by the visiting team, it was credited to Karim Onisiwo, but replays showed that Shikov touched the ball last before it went into the net. Vanche was trying to make a block, but Onisiwo’s shot seemed to hit Shikov’s leg before going in. Therefore, it is possible that the Austrian league may change that to an own goal.

Croatia, MAXtv Prva Liga, Dinamo Zagreb – RNK Split 3:0
Arijan Ademi only lasted 7 minutes for Dinamo Zagreb before an injury forced him to be substituted by Gonçalo Santos, while Marko Simonovski played the opening 45 minutes for RNK Split before he was replaced at the start of the 2nd half by Dario Rugasevic. Simonovski had one chance that came in the 43rd minute, but his header following a corner kick was saved.

Croatia, MAXtv Prva Liga, Rijeka – Hajduk Split 0:0
Stefan Ristovski played all 90 minutes for Rijeka in the goalless draw against Hajduk Split. Ristovski began in his usual right-back position. In the 64th minute, meanwhile, Ristovski was fouled hard by Julián Velázquez, leading to a straight red card for Velázquez. In the end, both teams finished the match with 10 men.

Ilija Nestorovski started at center-forward for Inter Zaprešić and played the full match, while Muzafer Ejupi played 60 minutes for Slaven Belupo before he came out for Stefan Savic. Nestorovski notched the winning goal in the 70th minute on a header from close range.

Slovenia, PrvaLiga Telekom Slovenije, Maribor – Olimpija 0:3
Agim Ibraimi played the entire game for Maribor who suffered a heavy loss to Olimpija in the derby of Slovenia. Ibraimi came close to scoring in the 30th minute when his free kick was well saved by the keeper. Otherwise, Olimpija proved dominant in their mastery of Maribor.

Zeni Husmani was an unused substitute for Domžale.

Belgium, Jupiler Pro League, OH Leuven – Charleroi 2:0
Jovan Kostovski started in attack for OH Leuven and played the complete match. Kostovski had one early (3rd minute) and late (90th minute) chance, but he sent his first effort just wide, while his second shot was saved by the keeper. Jovan was also shown a yellow card in the 51st minute.

Besart Abdurahimi opened on the bench for Lokeren before he was introduced in the 69th minute to take the spot of Serhiy Bolbat. Abdurahimi was back in action after being excluded from the Lokeren matchday squad in the first three rounds.

Turkey, PTT 1. Lig, Adana Demirspor – Karşıyaka 2:0
Daniel Mojsov played all 90 minutes for Adana Demirspor and scored what proved to be the game winner in the 44th minute. Mojsov sent a looping header from close range over the visiting keeper. Karşıyaka wanted offside, but the referees ruled it was a valid goal.

Turkey, Spor Toto Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe – Eskişehirspor 2:0
Muarem Muarem was not included in the matchday squad by Eskişehirspor.

Mirko Ivanovski started for Videoton and played until the 67th minute when he was replaced by Ádám Gyurcsó. Mirko had a good opportunity in the 57th minute, but he sent his close range volley wide of the target. Ivanovski also received a yellow card in the 42nd minute.

Enis Bardhi got the start for Újpest and played until the 74th minute when he made way for Benjámin Cseke. Bardhi had one shot on goal in the 45th minute, but his effort from a free kick was saved by the opposing keeper.

Aleksandar Todorovski played the whole match for Zagłębie Lubin who picked up a home win over the reigning league champion in Poland. Zagłębie Lubin netted two goals in the 1st half, while Lech Poznań could only score a late consolation goal in the 90th minute.

Russia, Premier League, Rostov – Krylia Sovetov 1:1
Adis Jahovic remains out of action for Krylia Sovetov due to an injury. The situation involving Jahovic is currently at a standstill. He can’t do anything until August 20 since his doctor, based in Germany, is not available until that date (the doctor is on vacation). Jahovic actually planned to travel to Germany sooner to get an update, but that was canceled since the doctor was out of town. Bad timing for both Jahovic and Krylia Sovetov.

Leonard Zuta started at left center-back for Häcken and played the full 90 minutes. Häcken suffered a heavy road defeat by conceding all four goals after Jasmin Sudic, Zuta’s partner in central defense, received a straight red card in the 30th minute.

Sweden, Superettan, Mjällby – Sirius 1:2
Daniel Ivanovski played the entire game for Mjällby and won a penalty for his team in the 69th minute. He went forward from the right-back position and was brought down inside the area, leading to a penalty. His teammate Christian Wilhelmsson converted the spot kick, but it still wasn’t enough as Sirius got the narrow win.

Switzerland, Schweizer Cup, Old Boys – Schaffhausen 1:2
Ezgjan Alioski played all 90 minutes for Schaffhausen who recorded a come from behind victory to reach the next round of the Swiss Cup. Schaffhausen went down 1:0 in the 33rd minute, but then they scored twice in the 73rd and 90th minute to overcome the deficit. The second goal came via a penalty by Igor Tadic.

Taulant Sulejmanov-Seferi continues to be sidelined with an injury for Young Boys.

Samir Fazli played the complete match for Wil who netted three late goals after the 84th minute to get past Bavois. The home side briefly led 1:0 after their goal in the 78th minute, but that didn’t last long.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Premijer Liga, Sarajevo – Zrinjski 0:1
Krste Velkoski started in attack for Sarajevo and played until the 85th minute when he was replaced by Almir Bekic. Velkoski had his best chance in the 54th minute after he received a good pass, but his shot was saved by the Zrinjski keeper before the ball went out for a corner kick.

France, Ligue 1, Rennes – Montpellier 1:0
Gjoko Zajkov was not among the 19 players called up by Rennes. Zajkov remains with Rennes for now after his proposed move to Hamilton (Scotland) fell through. Zajkov was unable to obtain a work permit as the rules in Scotland are very strict, similar to those in England. Zajkov has until the end of the month to transfer elsewhere since he is not in the coach’s plans at Rennes.

Netherlands, Eerste Divisie, Eindhoven – NAC Breda 2:1
Uros Matic was an unused substitute for NAC Breda. Despite the fact that NAC Breda was relegated to the Dutch second division, Matic continues to see little to no playing time under manager Robert Maaskant.

Thailand, Toyota Premier League, Bangkok Glass – Navy 4:1
Darko Tasevski played the entire game for Bangkok Glass, amassing one goal and an assist. The goal came in the 18th minute on a header from close range, while the assist came in the 58th minute when he set up Pakin Kaikaew to score on a long range strike.

Serbia, Jelen SuperLiga, Mladost Lučani – Borac Čačak 1:1
Aleksandar Lazevski and Tome Kitanovski, both of Mladost Lučani, started at the wing-back positions for their team and played the full match. Lazevski was fielded at left-back, while Kitanovski was deployed on the right side. Tome also picked up a yellow card in the 10th minute.

Daniel Avramovski once again did not get a chance to play for OFK Beograd. He has yet to feature in a game since being loaned to OFK Beograd.

Stefan Ashkovski got the start for Novi Pazar and played until the 60th minute when he made way for Dino Zilkic, while his teammate Ivan Nastevski was not included in the 18 player matchday squad.

Darko Tofiloski played from the start for Ružomberok and conceded two goals in the 31st and 79th minute. Both of them came on shots from inside the area.

South Korea, K-League Classic, Jeonnam – Incheon United 0:2
Stevica Ristic started in center-forward for Jeonnam and played the complete match. Ristic attempted one shot on goal in the 37th minute, but his effort was saved by the visiting keeper.

Dushan Savic played the entire game for Zhetysu who escaped last place after this win over Tobol.

Aleksandar Stankov opened on the bench for Horsens before he was introduced in the 70th minute to replace Mikkel Jespersen. Aleksandar quickly made his debut after his loan move to Horsens was announced on Sunday morning.

Antonio Stankov played all 90 minutes for Vejle in the road loss to Helsingør. Vejle scored just before halftime to make it 1:1, but the home side added two goals in the 2nd half to seal the three points.

Zoran Baldovaliev got the start for Lokomotiv Plovdiv and played until the 75th minute when he was substituted by Georgi Valchev. Baldovaliev was also shown a yellow card in the 18th minute.

Medzit Neziri played all 90 minutes for Dacia and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet.

Armenia, Premier League, Banants – Alashkert 2:2
Vlatko Drobarov started in central defense for Banants and played the complete match. Each team scored one goal apiece in both halves to settle for one point.

Finland, Suomen Cup, Inter Turku – KuPS 1:1 (Inter Turku advanced 3:2 on penalties)
Egzon Belica played the entire game for Inter Turku who reached the final of the Finnish Cup. It was 1:1 after 90 minutes, stayed 1:1 after 30 more minutes of extra time, so penalty kicks decided the winner. There, Inter Turku prevailed 3:2. One of the penalties was converted by Belica. Inter Turku will face Mariehamn in the Finnish Cup final.
