Italy, Serie A, Cesena – Inter 1:2
Goran Pandev started for Inter and played until the 59th minute when he seemed injured following a bad tackle by a Cesena player and had to be substituted by Giampaolo Pazzini.  Pandev played in left midfield where he was asked to both go forward in order to provide extra support in attack and also track back and help out on defense.  Inter was lackluster and played with a lack of urgency for most of the 1st half.  Pandev had a chance in the 24th minute when he received a good cross from the right by Brazilian RB Maicon but the Cesena keeper beat Pandev to the ball who made contact with the keeper while jumping for the ball and was called for a foul.  Pandev only attempted one shot on goal in the 51st minute but his effort from outside of the box was blocked by a Cesena player.  In the 59th minute, Cesena defender Luca Ceccarelli committed a bad foul from behind on Pandev who stayed down holding his leg and had to be substituted by Giampaolo Pazzini.  Pazzini actually turned out to be the hero for Inter as he scored two goals in stoppage time of the 90th minute to hand Cesena a heartbreaking loss since they are still near the bottom of the table and battling to avoid relegation.

remaining league games in the Bundesliga.

Ukraine, Premyer-Liha, Dynamo Kyiv – Shakhtar Donetsk 3:0
Goran Popov started at LB for Dynamo Kyiv and played the entire game as his team picked up a convincing victory in the big Ukrainian derby against Shakhtar Donetsk.  Popov was solid on defense and he has really improved under new manager Yuri Semin after initially struggling and being criticized for his poor play at the start of the season.

Russia, Premier-Liga, Amkar – Tom 1:2
Stevica Ristić played all 90 minutes for Amkar and opened the scoring in the 14th minute but the visitors then scored two goals to record the victory.  The Tom keeper should have done better on the Ristić goal as the shot from the edge of the box didn’t have much power but the keeper misplayed the shot and could not keep the ball from reaching the back of the net.
