Macedonian First League – Round 4

Macedonian First LeagueTurnovo continued its good form with a win over Metalurg, Vardar defeated Renova on the road, Napredok and Rabotnichki won narrowly with one goal margins, while Bregalnica Shtip and Shkendija shared the points in a goalless draw.

Dejan Blazhevski’s brace in Turnovo made all the difference to ensure a win for the home team over Metalurg.  Turnovo stayed undefeated to top the table with 10 points after four rounds.  Blazhevski, who joined Turnovo this summer after spending the past several years in Greece, has proven to be one of the top signings thus far.

The battle between the reigning League and Cup winners in Vardar and Renova ended in a victory for the former.  After a goalless first half, Dragan Gjorgiev and Jovan Kostovski reached the back of the net for Vardar after the break, bringing the club to 9 points heading into this weekend’s match against Turnovo in a matchup between the top two teams on the standings.

Bregalnica and Shkendija, who played two high scoring games last season, managed just a goalless draw to share the points.  Meanwhile, Napredok continues to pick up good results at home with a 1:0 win over winless and pointless Sileks, while Rabotnichki, with a game winner in stoppage time of the 90th minute, got past Pelister.

The remaining match of the round between Teteks and Drita is scheduled for tomorrow.
